New Breast Exam Benefit Begins December 1, 2024

New coverage will soon be in place for breast health examinations in Alaska. Alaska state mandate SB134 requires that effective December 1, 2024, or as groups renew, a health plan carrier may not impose cost sharing for supplemental or diagnostic breast imaging. For qualified high deductible health plans, it will be subject to the minimum IRS deductible, then 0% coinsurance.
