Home Test Kits for HbA1c and Colorectal Cancer Screening

December 7, 2023

Eligible members in Washington will be sent home test kits for HbA1c and colorectal cancer screening by the end of 2023. This annual program aims to simplify our members’ access to these important screenings.

Based on eligibility, members will receive either a FIT (fecal immunochemical test) kit and/or a diabetic HbA1c test kit. There is no cost to members who receive a kit through this program.

  • Individuals aged 45-75 years of age should be screened for colorectal cancer at regular intervals, for early detection of abnormalities. See our Colorectal Cancer Screening Tip Sheet for more information.
  • Individuals aged 18-75 with a diagnosis of type 2 diabetes, should receive a Hemoglobin A1c test once every 12 months. See our Diabetes Management Tip Sheet for more information.

Members will receive up to two reminder phone calls and one reminder letter to complete their test kits.
