Home Test Kits for Colon Cancer Screening, Diabetic HbA1c Testing, and Diabetic Kidney Monitoring

Premera Blue Cross Blue Shield is working with LetsGetChecked® to send at-home test kits for colorectal cancer screening, HbA1c, and diabetic kidney monitoring. The kits are free and mailed directly to the member’s home. LetsGetChecked will mail kits throughout the year to eligible members in Alaska. The goal is to simplify our members’ access to these important screenings.

Here’s what you need to know:

• Test results from the screenings will be sent to the member and their provider.
• Members who have clinical gaps in care (using HEDIS eligibility) are eligible to receive kits.

Who should be screened?

• Individuals aged 45-75 should be screened for colorectal cancer at regular intervals, for early detection of abnormalities. See our Colorectal Cancer Screening Tip Sheet for more information.
• Individuals aged 18-75 with a diagnosis of type 2 diabetes should receive a Hemoglobin A1c test once and kidney health evaluation test every 12 months. See our Diabetes Management Tip Sheet for more information.
