Engaging with Frequent Emergency Room Visitors

Throughout 2024, the Premera Member Engagement Team will send informational mailings to high emergency room (ER) users to ensure they’re aware of non-emergent care options available to them on short notice.

Topics covered in the mailer include:

  • Alternatives to ER visits for non-emergent services like the 24-Hour Nurse Line, telehealth services, and urgent care facilities.
  • Cost of these alternatives per the member’s specific plan.
  • Reminders of conditions, symptoms, and situations considered “emergent.”
