Dental Choice Network Expands With GRID+ Dental

Starting January 6, 2026, Premera Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alaska joins Dental GRID. The national network gives some Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) members access to more dentists in Dental Choice network. Your current healthcare provider contract with Premera and payment amount won’t change.

Why GRID+ Matters

Dental GRID links many BCBS plans from different states into a large network that members can use. There are two distinct networks to Dental GRID: GRID and GRID+. You can treat members in both networks if your provider contract with Premera allows it. This helps dentists in Premera’s Dental Choice network reach more patients.

Do This

• Sign up with Availity Essentials to verify member benefits and eligibility, send claims, and manage other administrative tasks.
• Encourage your patients to check with their dental health plan for the most accurate information about their GRID+ or GRID+ network.
• Know that members with access to GRID and GRID+ will have these network names on their ID card.
