Reminder: Dental GRID Network Brings Members Nationwide Access

We announced in November that Premera Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alaska joins the national Dental GRID network starting January 1, 2026. Here are more updates you need to know.

Why it Matters

Joining the Dental GRID network automatically enrolls Premera-contracted dentists in GRID and GRID+ networks. This change lets dentists in the Premera Dental Choice network treat participating Blue Cross Blue Shield members nationwide under the fee schedule and terms of your Premera contract. Dental care you provide for Premera members is not affected.

Do This

Sign up with Availity Essentials before January 1, 2026. This helps avoid delays in verifying member eligibility and benefits or sending claims. You can also encourage your patients to check their dental health plan for the most accurate information about their network.

Look for This

Members with access to Dental GRID will have the network name (GRID or GRID+) on their member ID card. Here’s an ID card example:
